Leucistic Zebra

We had just finished lunch on the border with Alex when we decided to go on a bit of a drive before heading back to Serian. We were down right near the Ngiroare ranger post almost hugging the escarpment as we came over a small hill where a couple of vehicles were looking at a collection of wildebeest, zebra and buffalo.

It did not take long to realize that there was something very different about one of these zebras as it stood out from the crowd. The other two vehicles moved on after a short while, and we had the little foal all to ourselves. It was definitely not rejected by the rest of the herd which is great, but hopefully he/she lasts a little while and will not be targeted by predators and the herd keeps the foal safe.

We spent about an hour with him before we left and meandered our way back to camp.
