Alex Walker

Alex has been guiding and outfitting safaris throughout East Africa for thirty years. Brought up in the tea fields of Mufindi, his childhood was spent exploring the bush of Southern Tanzania, the forests of the Mau in Kenya and the mountains and vast wilderness of Southern Sudan. Alex spent his time in the bush on foot learning, hunting and exploring with his father’s trackers.
Actively involved in the formation of the Mara North Conservancy and many other local conservation initiatives Alex has wrought out a charismatic home, Serian; in the Masai Mara. Creating a collection of intimate East African bush camps, from where he operates distinctive safaris with a bent on walking and exploring, also keeping a hand in by recording some of Africa’s unique images. A keen cameraman, Alex has partnered with many renowned filmmakers to film and produce emotive and exhilarating conservation orientated documentaries.
Gerard Ambrose

Gerard has been part of the Serian team for the last 3 seasons, following a career as a professional hunter spanning more than 45 years. His unparalleled experience with wildlife and wilderness makes him an invaluable character to have around, not to mention one of Africa’s most knowledgeable guides – be it on foot or in a vehicle. The depth of his knowledge provides a bottomless resource for our younger guides to tap into, and aside from mentoring and keeping them in check, he ensures our fleet of vehicles runs smoothly.
A keen ornithologist and a natural photographer, a number of Gerard’s prints adorn the camp walls aswell as our blog.
Adrian Allen

Born and raised on a farm in northern Kenya, he manages and hosts Serian and Ngare Serian in the Masai Mara. After finishing school, Adrian completed a professional guiding course in South Africa then worked on the Madikwe Game Reserve.
Having worked at “Sabuk” in Laikipia, he built and ran Offbeat’s Meru Camp. He has great depth in hands on experience; having hosted & guided camps, walking & camel safaris. An experienced bush hand with a passion for walking Adrian is full of mischief and lots of fun to be on safari with.
“Walking with dangerous game is a great way to experience Africa. When you are on foot and approach elephants, it makes you realise the size and strength of the animal compared to when you have the safety of a vehicle”
Roisin Perrett

Roisin’s grandfather, Japper Evans, a local legend, led “old style” camel safari’s and walked across the Sahara in his mid seventies.
John & Amanda took over, expanding these adventurous safari’s to locations well off the beaten track. Helping on these safaris was Roisin’s apprenticeship, exploring the northern deserts & camping under the stars.
As a hostess and manager Roisin brings new perspective to Serian, a vibrant energy. A creative individual who revels camp life & celebrates life with love & laughter.
